Installation

Installation of Footprints is an easy and painless process. After you have downloaded the zip file from this site and extracted the footprints.swf file to your hard drive, you’re ready to begin.

There are two options available.

Meeting Level Installation

Enter your meeting in a Host Role. From the Pods menu, select “Share” then “Select from My Computer…”

Navigate to the footprints.swf file you extracted from the zipfile and begin the upload.

As soon as you complete the upload of the pod to your meeting, your license for Footprints will be automatically activated. Since the license for Footprints covers all users under a single Adobe Connect Pro Account Number, you may find that you are not the first in your organization to have uploaded the tool and the defaults for your organization have already been set up.

At this point, you’re ready to start using Footprints! We told you it was easy.

System Wide Account Installation

Since the Footprints tool can be used by unlimited users for unlimited numbers of meetings, it will usually make more sense to do a System Wide Account Installation of Footprints so everyone under the account can make use of it.

To do this, make sure you are logged in to your Adobe Account as an Administrator. We suggest creating a new folder called Footprints in your Shared Content Library. If you have Authoring rights on the account you can upload the pod directly to this new folder. For accounts without Authoring licenses there is a simple workaround that can achieve the same result;

Upload the footprints.swf file to a meeting space as in the Meeting Level installation above. After the file has been uploaded, go to the Meeting area on the Adobe Connect Central web site for your account and click the link for “Uploaded Content”. Locate the footprints.swf file in “Uploaded Content” and move the resource to the Shared Content | Footprints folder you created earlier.

Once the Footprints file is located in the Shared Resources area it will be available to all users who create new meetings and wish to include the pod. However for maximum availability we suggest that you edit each of your Shared Templates (located in the Shared Meetings | Shared Templates folder) and any User Templates to include a new Layout called Footprints. This new layout should contain the Footprints pod sized as large as possible.

Including the Footprints Layout and Footprints Pod in your templates means that Footprints will be automatically included in all new meetings so you can track your Carbon Emission savings for every meeting you host.
